llumesh® – nocturnal architecture

During the day, the building is wrapped in a stainless steel curtain. At night, the facade comes to life with Illumesh® colour and text displays, which are elegantly reflected on the stainless steel mesh.

Illumesh® multifunctionality – form and function at a premium level

Illumesh® is multifunctional – it is made of stainless steel mesh, which is permanently resistant to extreme temperatures, is non-combustible and can easily be cleaned and hung in front of the facade. As such, it is perfectly suited as both an attractive feature and a highly functional protection layer against rain, wind and sun in the architectural field.

LED illumination lends the material an extra mediatectural dimension - the result is a media facade that can be brought to life with a range of artistic displays during the night. Technology for media control, data and power supply is installed in a concealed location and the LEDs are an energy-saving and reliable light source. Illumesh® thus has a harmonious and highly attractive appearance: both as an active media facade at night and as a high-grade, transparent stainless steel facade cladding during the day.

The Illumesh® LED rows can be replaced individually with the greatest of ease. The control units for power and data are also easily exchangeable.

Selection of the metallic mesh – impression through reflection

Illumesh® is based on transparent stainless steel mesh, whereby the density of the mesh influences how intensely the illumination is reflected.

The choice of mesh affects the visual effect of Illumesh® in a targeted way: a dense mesh reflects more light, while a more open mesh reflects less light. This gives the resulting light display a classy and dynamic appearance: the location and movement of the viewer influence the perception of the illumination. The three-dimensional relief effect transforms the light installation into a mystical spectacle.

Illumesh® - more flexibility, more possibilities, more impact

Illumesh® adds dynamism and emotion to static facades and sustainably enhances them at a relatively low cost. The larger the facade, the more mediatectural design possibilities there are. When combined with Mediamesh®, even facades measuring several thousand square metres can be medialised for which the entire installation with Mediamesh® would be too cost-intensive.

This combination is often the best solution for realising an end-to-end mediatectural concept: particularly suitable parts of the facade are equipped with Mediamesh® and act as projection screens for video-quality communications. A projection concept carefully coordinated between both mesh types ensures that the overall facade impression remains an integral part of the architecture or can even be enhanced. This high-tech aesthetic solution is supported by the dramatically reduced technical installations, such as data converters and concealed power and data supply installations.
