Mediamesh® - transforming facades into vivid video surfaces

Mediamesh® adds dynamism and emotion to static facades, enables media design on large facade surfaces and thus in a new dimension. The larger the facade, the more mediatectural design possibilities there are.

In combination with Illumesh® it even enables medialisation of facades measuring several thousand square metres for which the entire installation with Mediamesh® would be too cost-intensive. This combination is often the best option for realising an end-to-end mediatectural concept: particularly suitable parts of the facade are equipped with Mediamesh® and act as projection screens for video-quality communications.

A carefully coordinated projection concept encompassing both mesh types ensures an overall facade impression as an integral part of the architecture. This high-tech aesthetic solution is supported by the dramatically reduced technical installations, such as data converters and concealed power and data supply installations.

Due to a variety of freely programmable parameters, Mediamesh® can be perfectly matched to specific requirements. This is why a Mediamesh® project always begins with an individual analysis of the potential capacity and framework conditions of the facade, involving questions such as:

• which mesh type is best suited for this application?
• from what perspective and distance will the viewer see the Mediamesh® facade?
• what are the possibilities and requirements for the design of the media projection?
• which projection concept should the media facade have?

Media projection as part of an overall architectural concept

Although technical installation and assembly may be an important aspect when applying a Mediamesh® display, it is not the only element requiring work. The concept and design of the media projection to be displayed on the facade are also among the key aspects of planning from the very beginning. The content of a media facade projection with Mediamesh® is the centre of attention here, after all the technology alone does not grab the attention and communicate with the viewer - following installation, it disappears from the eye of the viewer altogether. Therefore the design-related, technical and conceptional aspects of a media facade are ideally integrated in the architectural concept at the earliest possible stage.
