SolidWEAVE – simulation of metal wire meshes

GKD uses various simulation tools that make it possible to characterize very precisely the properties of the meshes produced in terms of geometric parameters and flow properties (CFD simulation).

CFD simulation with GeoDict

The most used tool for simulations of this kind is the GeoDict software which was adapted for the simulation of meshes and, in a further development, specifically for wire meshes and GKD weave types.

Based on these tools, new meshes are modelled and simulated in accordance to customer's requirements. Also already existing meshes are modelled and on the basis of the model, CFD simulations are performed to determine flow characteristics in specific set ups and conditions. In the course of this, the accuracy between actual real tests and simulation is very high.

Using these tools, it is possible to achieve considerable savings in time and cost because the conditions and goods of the subsequent tests can be defined very precisely.
