Insulating Material / Insulation Material / Insulants

GKD process belts are used both in the chemical stabilization of insulating materials and in drying and calibrating insulants. Whether fibre glass, synthetic fibres, natural fibres and mineral fibres or various mica types – all these raw materials put specific demands on the production processes and the process belts used for the given situation.

As a belt specialist of long standing, GKD has attentively geared the properties of its WEAVEinMotion process belts ever more specifically to the corresponding drying processes.

Belt properties and application areas

Accurate tracking ability and high cross-stability are key quality features of GKD process belts. In addition to special mesh structures, there are other features, e.g. high temperature resistance and excellent mechanical cleaning for custom belt solutions – whether for flow-through dryers and double-belt dryers or even for dryers with product path binder application (spraying) upstream.

GKD dryer belts are used for the manufacture of, among other things,

  • Electric insulators (in  capacitors, electron tubes, semiconductor devices,…)
  • Carrier materials for resistance wires (in soldering irons, toasters, electric ranges,…)
  • Seals in microwave ovens
  • Footfall sound insulation mats in floor coverings
  • Acoustic insulating panels (ceiling & floor panels, wall units)
  • Façade, rafter & interior insulation in the construction industry
