Sludge Treatment

WEAVEinMotion synthetic woven mesh belts are used for sludge dewatering and sludge drying. In close cooperation with belt press and belt dryer manufacturers GKD is developing various process-specific types of mesh. They are used in belt presses and belt dryer systems and stand the test in a host of areas, e.g. in industrial sewage sludges, paper, product and chemical sludges. They are by implication extremely robust and mechanically very stable.

Thanks to thermal treatment the synthetic meshes are stable in both shape and dimension while elastic at the same time. Additional lateral reinforcement prevents fraying along the edges. Even the seams are specially coated to give them extra protection against mechanical forces. The belts withstand tensile forces of up to 310 N/mm and temperatures of up to 160° C. Resistant to abrasion and chemical effects, GKD belts are appropriate for every type of sludge.

GKD special belts made of polyester or PPS attain considerably dryer sludges in serial dryers. Their temperature range spans from 80 to 200° Celsius, their ph bandwidth from 1-14. They withstand extremely high surface loads thanks to their weave type made of robust monofilaments and they make easy and effective cleaning of the belt possible as well.
